The new Leben CS-660P power amplifier is simply stunning, both in it's build quality and superior musical performance.

An extensive choice of output tubes may be used, by switching two selector switches on the rearside of the cabinet the amplifier settings change to suit the tube choice. Aprotective cover for the tubes perfectly finishes off the styling of the unit. The CS-660P can also be used as a mono power amplifier, again by a selector switch change - this gives an output of 80 watts mono.

Below we have the front and rear views of the CS-660P and images of the Leben preamplifiers which are of course a perfect match for this power amplifier, the combination giving a supreme performance.

To enable you to adapt the CS-660P to a wide range of loudspeakers there is a multi output impedance selector with a choice of 4,6,8 or 16 ohms output impedance. Also a flat frequency response from 10Hz to 100KHz ensures high performance and caters for the use of modern digital formats like SACD / HDCD.

Other notable features are, high quality 6CS7 for the first stage amplification, WBT speaker terminals, large capacity choke coil (400mA), dumper tube 6CJ3 to delay the high voltage to the output tubes both protecting them and increasing the tube life. A potetiometer (volume / gain control) is fitted to the CS-660P to ensure perfect matching to other equipment , pre-amplfiers and loudspeakers. All components are high grade audio, there is a warm up indicator light and beautiful wood side panels.

At NC Audio we have tried the CS-660P with several different types of tubes.

Please be careful with your choice of tubes and select those of high quality which may cost a little more but will also give a higher musical pleasure. Each tube type gives a different listening experience, you can select the sound that most suits your musical tastes and your own system. All of the tubes in the table below are recommended.

The following table shows the switch positions for each of  the tube types.

(*) Note for KT66 and 6L6WGB / 5881 the plate voltage switch may also be in the 'down' position (green light) depending on the valve characteristics. Please check before using if you are not sure. For example some Chinese type KT66 are not suitable for the higher voltage setting.
