Tim de Paravicini is a living legend due to his worldwide success with tube amplifier design. Now we have a cd player from EAR / Yoshino which is simply stunning. A valve output stage of course and the Paravicini 'touch' ensures a totally engrossing performance never before heard from a cd player of this category, or maybe any category ! - unrivalled musical performance.
Many designers claim that their cd player sounds like 'vinyl' or 'analogic' Tim de Paravicini's ACUTE actually does !
It has an analogue volume control on the front panel which regulates the signal output from zero to 5V maximum and is equipped with RCA and real balanced XLR outputs.
Wolfson DA converters are chosen by Tim as well as a SONY transport mechanism. The ACUTE is available in two different finishes, Aluminium facia or a luxury chrome finish with gold chrome buttons.
The sound is as you would expect from EAR , musical and fluid in it's presentation, very analogic. The midrange is astonishing.
