overview and specifications

The EAR 912 preamplifier took the world by storm when it was released a few years ago. This is not at all surprising, the 912 is simply unsurpassed, a masterpiece from the Paravacini stable.

Now with the new EAR 868 preamplifier you can get close to the 912 performance. The 868 linestage is the same as the 912  and the phono section gets real close. Of course, we don't get the same amount of facilities or a chassis as substantial as the 912, and the V U meters have gone but the essentials are all there and most importantly, the 868 makes music !

The EAR 868 is very similar to the 864 on the outside. However important changes have been made to improve the performances, the tubes are now PCC88 for the linestage and the phono section, reliable, robust and they have a long life. The off / on switch is now encircled with an orange light and remote control is standard. If you don't want remote control we can supply the manual version. Needless to say, the 868 is fully equipped with both RCA and XLR inputs and outputs to suit every type of system connection.
