Caldera, the Spanish word for cauldron, describes a basin-shaped crater of volcanic origin, and indeed the Caldera can be as hot as a cauldron or as explosive as a volcano when required. However, it's not just fireworks you get with the Caldera - this model is also a gentle giant able to portray with emotion the smallest of details and the slightest nuance in the music. Totally satisfying with every kind of music, the Caldera leaves you totally and musically fulfilled.

Add to this the fact that the Caldera is relatively easy to drive, you don't need a mega watt muscle amplifier (that normally has brute force only) but most good 50 watt + tube models or high quality 100 watt + transistor amplifiers will be sufficient. You can of course use amplifiers of higher power should you wish.

The completely new designed Caldera is a three-and-half-way loudspeaker fitted with coaxial tweeter-midrange drivers. In other words, the two drivers responsible for integrity and focus in the most sensitive area of voice and string instrument reproduction above 150 Hertz share the same axis and closely approximate the acoustic ideal of a point source.

In each loudspeaker you also have four high quality bass drivers, two active and two passive in each enclosure. This arrangement gives a fabulous deep and clean bass performance with superb articulation and speed.

And for my next trick...i will make the Audio Physic Caldera disappear !!!, yes we can - with a little work on positioning and toe in angle the Caldera will totally disappear before your eyes and ears. You will hear them and see them but you will only perceive the beautiful flowing music on a well laid out soundstage, never coming directly from the drivers.

The finish of the Caldera is A1, a real class act, although quite a large speaker, the Caldera is very elegant and unobtrusive, available in a range of beautiful colours - our favourite has to be EBONY !
